FAQ | Manta Dive Komodo

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we reach Komodo diving from the airport?

From Komodo (Labuan Bajo) airport to our place, we can book a taxi for our guests. The price for 2 passengers is Rp 70.000. We will bring you to your hotel and arrange your diving daily trip with your dive guide.

Do we have phone coverage & Wi-Fi provided?

In this area, the cell-phone coverage is provided by TELKOMSEL. Free Wi-Fi is not efficient in Bajo, but with a SIM Card bought from this operator (Rp20.000-30.000) and +/- Rp.100.000 you will have access to a phone call, including cheap codes for international calls and 4G internet connection packages for WhatsApp.

I'm a beginner diver with an Open Water certificate. Can I dive in Komodo?

We like the divers to be able to check their air by themselves, to follow dive profiles at +/-25 m, or to control their buoyancy to drift, if necessary. We also encourage respecting corals and marine life. For these reasons, we recommend at least 20 dives of experience and advanced courses.

Do you provide vegetarian food?

We serve Indonesian-style meals made with local and healthy products. Our dishes include a rice base, fish (occasionally eggs, chicken, or meat), and 2 to 4 vegetarian options like vegetables, local beans, tempe, or tofu, along with fruits or salad. Vegetarians are usually happy here!

Is there a Malaria or Dengue fever risk? Should we take prophylaxis treatment?

The region from Lombok to Far East Indonesia is registered as Malaria-endemic. Cases of Malaria have dropped, but mosquito activity is relatively low during the high season. Usual prevention includes sleeping under a bed net and using repellent. Prophylaxis treatment is an individual choice you might discuss with your doctor. Malarone is recommended for divers, while Lariam is not. Dengue Fever cases have increased in the Komodo region, so daily repellent use is advised.

Can we do some diving courses?

As a certified team, we offer diving courses focusing on specialties like nitrox, night diving, sidemount, photo, deep dive, and advanced courses.

Do you arrange private trips for charters or photographers?

Embark on a tailored diving experience like no other with our specialized underwater photographer charters and private dive trips in Komodo. Capture stunning moments beneath the waves and immerse yourself in the beauty of this aquatic paradise.
