Common Questions

Pink Beach Diving β€” FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your Pink Beach trip with Manta Dive Komodo.

Pink Beach (Pantai Merah) in Komodo National Park is one of only seven pink sand beaches in the world. The color comes from microscopic red organisms called Foraminifera, whose fragments mix with the white coral sand to create the distinctive blush tone. It's not a filter, not an exaggeration β€” it genuinely looks like that, especially in morning light. The beach is fully protected: taking sand is prohibited.
This trip is designed for certified divers with at least Open Water level. Sites like Manta Point are manageable for OW divers in good conditions β€” your guide will brief you fully on currents and site specifics. Non-divers in your group can snorkel at Pink Beach while divers are underwater. If you're not yet certified, ask us about our PADI Open Water course in Komodo.
Yes. The displayed price includes Komodo National Park diving fees for this Pink Beach + 2 Dives route. Optional rentals, personal insurance and private arrangements are not included.
The typical sites are Karang Makassar (Manta Point) and Batu Bolong β€” two of Komodo's most iconic locations. Manta Point is a famous cleaning station where reef mantas are seen year-round, though their presence can never be 100% guaranteed. Batu Bolong is consistently exceptional with extraordinary fish density. Final site selection is confirmed on the day based on conditions and currents.
Strict maximum of 8 guests per boat, with a guide ratio of 1 guide for every 6 divers maximum. This is a deliberate policy β€” not a capacity issue. We don't do crowded tours. Smaller groups mean better briefings, more attentive guiding, and a far superior dive experience. If you want exclusivity, you can also book the boat privately β€” ask us.
Komodo National Park access can be limited by permits, park management rules and seasonal demand. Combined with our 8-guest maximum policy, availability can sell out quickly during peak season. Booking in advance is strongly recommended.
Possibly β€” it depends on your flight time. We typically return to Labuan Bajo around 3:00–3:30 PM. If your flight is after 5:00 PM, it's usually manageable with a quick transfer. Contact us with your flight details and we'll advise honestly. We can also adapt the program for earlier returns if needed.
