Common Questions

Pink Beach Diving — FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your Pink Beach trip with Manta Dive Komodo.

Pink Beach (Pantai Merah) in Komodo National Park is one of only a handful of pink sand beaches in the world. The colour comes from microscopic red organisms called Foraminifera, whose fragments mix with white coral sand to create the distinctive blush tone. It really looks like that, especially in morning light. The beach is fully protected — taking sand or coral is strictly prohibited.
This trip is designed for certified divers with at least Open Water level. Sites such as Manta Point are manageable for OW divers in good conditions — your guide briefs you fully on currents and site specifics. Non-divers in your group can snorkel at Pink Beach while divers are underwater. If you're not yet certified, ask us about the PADI dive courses in Komodo.
Yes. The displayed price includes Komodo National Park diving fees for this Pink Beach + 2 Dives route. Nitrox fills are also included for certified Nitrox divers when operationally available. Optional rentals, personal insurance and private arrangements are not included.
Typical sites are Karang Makassar (Manta Point) and Batu Bolong — two of Komodo's most iconic locations. Manta Point is a famous reef manta cleaning station with year-round sightings, though wildlife is never 100% guaranteed. Batu Bolong is consistently exceptional for fish density. Final site selection is confirmed on the day based on currents, tides and conditions.
Strict maximum of 8 guests per boat, with a ratio of maximum 4 divers per guide. This is a deliberate Manta Dive Komodo policy — small groups, no compromises on safety, briefings or dive quality. Private boat charters are also available on request.
Access to Komodo National Park is regulated by Indonesian authorities through park entrance fees, conservation rules and operator permits. Combined with our 8-guest maximum policy, availability is genuinely limited during peak season (June–September). Booking several weeks in advance is strongly recommended for Pink Beach trips.
Possibly — it depends on your flight time and decompression rules. The trip typically returns mid-afternoon. Note that PADI standards recommend a minimum 18-hour surface interval between diving and flying. If your flight is the next day, no issue. If your flight is the same day, do not book this trip — contact us and we'll advise on safer options.
We require a 48-hour notice for cancellations to receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours of departure forfeit the deposit. Manta Dive Komodo never cancels for weather without offering an alternative date or full refund.
