Once You Land in Labuan Bajo

Arrive at Komodo Airport (LBJ)

Komodo Airport is a small, well-organised airport. Arrivals are quick — 10 to 20 minutes from gate to outside. Taxis and hotel pickup are available directly outside the terminal. Labuan Bajo town is 3 km from the airport.

Check In to Your Hotel in Labuan Bajo

Labuan Bajo has a wide range of accommodation — from backpacker guesthouses to luxury resorts. The waterfront strip is the most convenient for accessing dive boats. Book in advance, especially April–October.

Meet Us at the Manta Dive Dock

Our dive team will confirm your meeting point when you book. Most trips depart from the Labuan Bajo main harbour between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM depending on destination. We handle all park permits and logistics from there.

Boat to Komodo National Park

All dive sites require a boat from Labuan Bajo. Central Komodo is 45–75 minutes by speedboat. North Komodo is 90 minutes. South Komodo is 2–2.5 hours. Our boats are equipped with safety gear, oxygen and a professional crew.

Dive Komodo National Park

Manta rays, hammerhead sharks, turtles, pygmy seahorses, world-class walls and drift dives. Park fees are included in every trip price — no hidden charges at the dock. You show up, we handle the rest.

Return Flight Planning

Allow at least 2 hours before your flight after your last dive — more if possible. Never fly within 18 hours of a single dive, or 24 hours after a repetitive dive day. We can advise on dive schedules that fit your flight timing.

Everything you need to plan your journey to Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park.

Yes — two airlines now fly direct to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) from international origins. AirAsia Malaysia (AK336/337) launched the first ever direct international service from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) in September 2024, operating 3 times per week. Scoot (TR290) launched direct flights from Singapore (SIN) in December 2025, twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, replacing Jetstar Asia which ceased operations in July 2025. Both are low-cost carriers with Fly-Thru connectivity across Asia and Australia.
From Australia: fly to Bali (DPS) — dozens of direct services from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin — then connect to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) in 1 hour. Alternatively fly via Singapore and connect to Scoot's direct service to LBJ. From Europe: fly to Bali or Jakarta as your main hub, then connect domestically to Labuan Bajo. Singapore via KrisFlyer/Scoot is another clean option with only one connection.
For peak season (June–October), book flights and accommodation at least 2–3 months in advance. The park's daily quota of 1,000 visitors and the limited number of direct international seats means things fill up quickly. For Scoot from Singapore, fares are already competitive from SGD 228 one-way including taxes — book early for the best prices.
Most nationalities can obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) on arrival at Indonesian airports for 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days. The VOA fee is approximately USD 35. Some nationalities receive visa-free entry. Always verify requirements before travelling at molina.imigrasi.go.id.
Yes — always and without exception. Every price at Manta Dive Komodo includes all Komodo National Park entrance fees, dive permits, and ranger fees. The park enforces a strict daily quota of 1,000 visitors. We pre-book your permits as part of your reservation. You will never face a surprise charge at the dock.
We recommend a minimum of 3 diving days to explore Central, North, and the Pink Beach / Padar area. Five days allows you to add the South Komodo hammerhead trip on Saturday plus a dragon trek. Allow for travel days on either side — most guests stay 5 to 7 nights in total.
